PROJECT OBJECTIVE

The main objective of this project is to design and analysis of fold able bicycle frame.

DESIRABLE

The foldabel bicycle is one of the hardest design practices in the cutting edge world, joining the efficiency of the customary bike with a package that the rider can convey under his or her arm. Some attractive characteristic for collapsing bicycle are given underneath:

1. Quick and simple to fold and extend

2. Light and compact

3. Size

4. Comfortable and stable to ride

5. Offers high stopping, accelerating and riding abilities.

6. Durability of bicycle. Generally 5-10 years.

PROJECT AIMS AND BENEFITS

The main aim of this project is to design a folding bicycle of very less space after folding with a low possible cost to manufacture it. The maximum cost of bicycle is $800.

GAP IN EXISTING STUDIES

The limitations in the existing foldable bicycles for the specific set of formulated design criteria are presented in this section. It was found that almost all the bicycles have a very similar frame design and folding mechanism.

Gaps in literature

-Difficult to carry

-The weight of the bicycle is more

-As contrast with conventional bicycle has less rigidity

-Joint used in bicycle is hinged which is less reliable than compact joint
