Question 1- What are the advantages or disadvantages of creating your own exception class from scratch as opposed to deriving it from the C++ exception class?

Question 2- Formalize (express in "Big-Oh" notation) the statement: "Exponential growth rate is asymptotically faster than polynomial." This follows from the relation between logarithmic and linear functions.
