Problem

1. Create a series of connectivity maps for either your place of work or your school. Try to include as many different external locations as possible. For one of these external locations, create one wide area connectivity map and one or more local area connectivity maps.

2. Perform a baseline study for the network at your workplace or school. Create a list of all network devices (servers, routers, bridges, switches, hubs, and so on). What protocols are supported by the network? What applications are supported by the network? Try to collect some statistics for one type of device on the network. If it is not possible to get actual values, simply create a list of the statistics that would be valuable for a particular device.
