Ask Computer Engineering Expert

Keep in mind that as marketers, we want to help a business convey that we are satisfying the wants and needs of customers.

This must be for a real business, preferably small to medium.

The business you select should be a small (local) to medium (local/regional only) size business you are familiar with and one that you can make a difference with. (You don't want to select a national chain  such as Petco, Home Depot, or others). It might be a nonprofit in your community that needs marketing help, or a small struggling business you want to see succeed, perhaps a faith-based organization, etc.

Think of it this way, you are looking at this small/medium size business as a marketing consultant. You will be creating a plan during the course that they can use and benefit from. You want to identify a problem and provide marketing solutions. You are not creating a plan for Google, or Amazon.com or any large business. This is about you thoughtfully selecting a business you care about and want to help, however, it cannot be the business you work at.

Think solutions. In developing your plan you will want to identify what's missing in their marketing and recommend specific solutions.  Ensure that you have adequately described your business and why you have selected it.

Your description in this paper should answer the following questions.

Please use the following as headers in your paper:

  • Where is your business located?
  • Rationale for selecting the business as a course project.
  • What is missing in terms of marketing in your mind? (This might be anything from how people are greeted to other aspects of customer relations, lack of awareness of the business, poor marketing examples you have seen or little/no marketing for the business, etc).
  • Who do you consider to be the "target" customers for the business? Men, women, ages, location, lifestyle?
  • What challenges might you face in the marketing this business?

Two-pages maximum, single-spaced, using APA style.
