Explain the importance of Computer architecture

Computer architecture courses cover application, organization, architecture, logic and transistor layers. However, four other layers between the architecture and application layers need to be studied as well for a comprehensive design (see the figure above). In figure above, who/what implements a layer is indicated on left side. Some layers are demonstrated with three text lines on the right side.
