Explain Register marker.

Register marker: Strowger selectors doing searching and counting.

Conversely, the crossbar switch has no 'intelligence'. Something external to the switch should decide which magnets have to operate. It is termed as a Register Marker. Because this takes less than a second for operating the switch, a marker can control several switches and serve several registers. Therefore, even a large exchange requires few markers. It is further stage of common control, that we shall call centralized control.
