Design Introduction

The presentation of geometric tolerances and the use of symbols has been standardised (among other things) such that a key is not required in order to interpret the information.

The Standards for Technical drawing that were used during the making of the drawing of the Adapter Part and this document are as follows:

1. ISO 128

ISO 128 refers to a collection of standards which lay out the basic principles of presentation for Technical Drawings. It is important to know these for future presentation of designs.

a. ISO 128 20: Basic Conventions for Lines

b. ISO 128 22: Basic Conventions and Applications for Leader Lines and Reference Lines

c. ISO 128 24: Lines on Mechanical Engineering Drawings

d. ISO 128 30: Basic Conventions for Views

e. ISO 128 34: Views on Mechanical Engineering Drawings

f. ISO 128 40: Basic Conventions for Cuts and Sections

g. ISO 128 44: Sections on Mechanical Engineering Drawings

h. ISO 128 50: Basic Conventions for Representing Areas on Cuts and Sections

2. ISO 129

ISO 129 describes the principles for dimensioning a technical drawing

a. ISO 129 1: General Principles for Indication of Dimensions and Tolerances

3. ISO 1101: Geometric product specifications - Geometric Tolerancing

4. ISO 1660: Technical Drawings - The Dimensioning and tolerancing of profiles

5. ISO 2768

a. ISO 2768 2: General Geometric Tolerances for features without individual tolerance indications.

6. ISO 3040

a. ISO 3040: Dimensioning and Tolerancing of Cones
