Construction Process Management
Aim - To understand the construction management concepts of planning, resource planning and scheduling
Objective - To understand the importance of project management through network analysis and its application in construction industry.
To analyze a given project using CPM and prepare a work schedule with resource allocation graphs.
TASK
Each student should develop a work breakdown structure for a construction project using the online scheduling tool Gantter. The students are required to select the below project based on their student number.

The report should contain the following tasks
1. Work breakdown structure for the project selected based on the students number. Here the students have to prepare a comprehensive list of all the activities of the project.
2. Schedule the activities as per the logic applied. The scheduling has to be done in GANTTER using proper logical sequence for all the activities. All possible combinations of logical sequence can be used to get the optimized time schedule. The entire schedule has to be printed and submitted in the report.
3. Identify the resources and prepare an online resource chart using GANTTER. This table has to be printed from GANTTER and submitted. All possible resources - Men, Machinery, Materials and Money has to be incorporated along with their anticipated cost.
4. Presentation Slides. The student has to defend their work at the end of the semester and proper reasoning, justification and conclusion has to be provided.
General Instructions to the students
- All the tasks in this coursework should be analyzed thoroughly for all possible options and any assumptions made have to be explicitly stated. All justifications and conclusions should be drawn based on the technical and engineering knowledge gained during the course.
- Each question should be solved separately by each student.
- Printouts from Gantter have to be attached separately for all the questions.
- All questions have to be solved in a single document and submitted along with the cover sheet.
- The Presentation Slide also has to be attached along with the coursework at the end.
