You are to create a professional biography that will be used by your future employer to put on the company website.  Think where you want to be five years after you graduate from college.  In this bio, you will write in third person pretending it is somewhere around 2024.  You have your degree and have been working in your field for at least 3-5 years.  You have just been hired for your "dream job" and the employer asked for a professional bio to put on his company's website.  Make sure you read the following information about how to write a professional bio and then carefully compose your bio and place it on the discussion board.

Defining a Professional Biography

A professional biography is a snapshot of who you are at a certain point in your life.  Your biography will change as you move from forward in your career.

Why Write a Professional Biography?

The purpose of a professional biography is to give your future employers or clients a chance to learn a bit more about you as a person.  For this assignment, the professional bio is a goal setting exercise designed to help you think about where you would like to be in five years.  Use your imagination and choose goals that you feel are attainable and realistic.

Elements of a Professional Biography

Begin by coming up with a statement that will catch the reader's attention.  Now, talk about your education. Where did you attend college? What was your major? List any clubs or activities that you participated in while attending college. Also, mention any accomplishments or awards. 

Tips

When writing a biography, you should never use the word "I" in it. Always talk about yourself as if you are writing about someone else.
