Assignment: Values in the Profession of Educational Technology

Reflect on the values that are implicit in the field of educational technology. What are those values that distinguish the field of educational technology from all other educational fields? "Educational technology's distinctive ethical concerns focus on the processes of creating instructional materials and learning environments and on relations with learners during the use of those materials and environments" (Januszewski & Molenda, 2008, p. 245).

While you often share outcomes and standards with teachers who do not use technology when they teach, you have chosen the field of educational technology as your profession. Discuss what you see as the advantages of the use of educational technology over not using technology.
