As AutoTek embarks on their move to become a global company, the idea of Services Oriented Architecture (SOA) has been a discussion at several of the recent executive meetings. Is SOA an enterprise strategy that AutoTek should consider? Karin Rix realizes that to be successful, a SOA strategy requires the full support & commitment of the CEO and executive team.
CEO Rix is concerned that she and the executive team do not completely understand SOA or furthermore Web Services (WS). A technical explanation of SOA/WS provided by Otto Bremmer only served to further confuse the business executives.

Therefore, Karin Rix is engaging the services of your MIM consulting team to prepare a short CEO Briefing explaining SOA/WS. The challenge in writing this will be to provide enough information to enable an executive audience to gain a "business" understanding of SOA/WS without drowning them in technical jargon. Your briefing is to be a generic discussion on SOA/WS. Do not discuss the merits of SOA/WS for AutoTek. The CEO & executive team only want to learn about SOA/WS and its potential benefit to business.

Apply what you have learned in class regarding SOA/WS. Your individual written response must be between 1500 and 2000 words. Additionally, you may include any diagrams that help illustrate your written content.
