Advanced Web Applications Development Project Assignment -

Project Aim: To develop a software project that helps in achieving the following SO's:

• An ability to use current techniques, skills, and tools necessary for computing practices.
• Recognition of the need for and an ability to engage in continuing professional development.
• An understanding of best practices and standards and their application.

Use of different types of technologies to accomplish their task. This project is divided into a set of three phases:

Phase 1: Simple User Interface

• Minimum a home page and 5 linked pages related to your project topic
• A Flash of moving images must be included on the home page
• A main title header that appears repeatedly throughout the website
• Use of logo (existing or new), title style and graphics.
• A consistent use of colour, graphics, fonts and overall thematic design
• All text should be readable (proper use of colour)
• A balanced layout of text, graphics and images
• Minimum 5 external links within the site
• Additional navigation text at bottom of each page
• Contact information on each page

Phase 2: Admin User Interface

• Install any web server and use PHP/ JSP to create the necessary dynamic web pages required for your project.
• The information entered using different forms must be saved in database
• Make use of proper input validation in your project
• Use proper regular expression and use valid CSS for good look and feel
• Make Use of AJAX technology (Do not reload the whole page).

Phase 3: Report

Appendix A - Paper, Typing, Format Instructions:

• Paper (A4 size) must be used for the preparation of the project report. Typing must be done on one side of the paper with character font in size 12 of Times New Roman.
• The layout must provide a margin of 4 cm on the left, 3 cm on the top and bottom and 2 cm on the right. i.e. Left margin space 4 cm, top and bottom margin space 3 cm, Right margin space 2 cm.
• Fresh paragraph must commence after five spaces. Double-spacing or One and half line spacing shall be provided through the report.
• The page numbers must be indicated at bottom-middle of each page.
• Should not underline the heading/subheadings and must not put colons (:) in headings or subheadings.
