This week the focus is on how information systems support the competitive strategies of organizations, as we have been considering since the course began.  Everything an organization does relative to getting their product or service out the door is reliant upon the functionality of the information system supporting the product or service. The processes are key and critical and Chapter 5 presents detailed information on this.

Assignment Objectives

1.       Please make sure in this week that you continue to use your own words in writing to present your information. The supporting material should not be the entire post, but only used to build up and support your own thoughts in writing.

• Analyze a company, its business position, and the attainment of a competitive advantage through the understanding and application of information systems and technologies.
• Perform systems analysis in a variety of industries and competitive situations.

1. Building a business case for an information technology (IT) strategy is essential to demonstrate that there is an alignment between the Information Technology that is implemented in the organization and the overall goals and objectives of the organization. Being able to build a business case means that the investment in resources can be justified.
2. Write an information systems business case of five (5)pages (not including the title and reference pages also) for the case study organization, that includes the following:

• Based on the information contained in the Business Systems Plan and the Strategic Information Systems Assessment, write an IT strategy statement that details the following:
  • Critical success factors for the IT manager
  • A general strategy for how the IT department will determine congruence between the goals of the IT department and the goals and objectives of the case study organization
  • A general strategy for how the IT department will support the goals and objectives of the case study organization
• Add this section to the Information Systems Business Case section of your IT Management Plan.
• Name the document "hedges_IT600__IP3.doc."
• All sources should be cited in the text and in the Referencessection using APA format. With a minuim of three resorce references.

My focus for the paper has been the Personal Computer Industry. Please if you could keep your writings in alignment with thePC industry also.
