Introduction

The Olympics mobilizes thousands and thousands of volunteers and paid employees to service the athletes, coaches, officials, and spectators. Review the chapter in your textbook and pay attention to information about forecasting. Read Chapter 3, Box 3.3 on HR planning for the 2012 London Olympic Games. Next, review information for what you can find regarding the size and scope of the London Olympic Organizing Committee by exploring the OCOG Contacts listed in the resources section above. Finally, review some of the available research on the HR plans for the Rio Olympics using the Rio 2016 Olympic Hiring Goals Announced and The Organizing Committee links listed in the resources section above.
