Question: In 1950, Michael and Albina Klos purchased a lot from the Molenda family, who continued to live right next door. Rather than survey the property, the buyers and sellers paced off the lot and placed stakes in the ground as boundary markers. After Mr. Molenda's death in 1983, his widow hired a surveyor to determine the exact property line. The property line turned out to be 30″ closer to the Kloses' house. Mrs. Molenda immediately dug up 30″ of the Kloses' grass and erected a fence on the true property line.
