Question: A major issue in business ethics is group agency, that is can an organisation (rather than a person) be viewed as a moral entity. Is to talk of an organization as a moral entity a paradigm shift or an elementary mistake? Below are some possible reasons why an organisation cannot be viewed as a ‘person': Its survival is not essential. Its freedom or liberty is not a fundamental issue. Its happiness is not an intelligible concept. Do you think these arguments can be overcome and is it reasonable to speak of an organisation as being moral or otherwise?
