Q1. As it has been suggested in the literature, management and leadership differ in their various functions (Yukl, 1998), yet both are critical to organizational efficiency and success. Whether an organization is large or small, a collaborative effort between management and leadership will help an organization achieve the desired outcomes (2005). Both management and leadership are different, yet both are very essential. In light of what we have learned so far in the course, would you consider yourself a manager or leader? How do you know? Use real-life examples to support your discussion.

Q2. You will find that as you progress as a leader in your organization you will find different avenues and means which will help prepare you for a greater level of responsibility. I would like to further suggest that preparation is very important. Oftentimes I have seen leaders take on too much responsibility without proper training, experience, or development. This is a sure recipe for disaster. However, over the process of time, when leaders make the necessary preparations they have a better chance at being effective and successful in their leadership career.Any thoughts?

Q3. As I'm sure that you already know, stressful situations can be approached in a positive manner. I believe we all deal with fear from time to time. However, as we gain experience and become familiar with leadership issues that are common much of that fear will dissipate. Effective leaders learn how to harness those emotions and channel them in a productive manner. Is there such thing as healthy fear? Some researchers think so. Whatever the case, as we progress and grow as organizational leaders many of the things that used to bother us or make us fearful don't bother us or create apprehension anymore.
