Assignment 1 -

Wastage both affects the bottom line of any business, as well as having a negative impact on the environment in which we live.

For this task you are to look at the environmental impact that is occurring in your workplace, or training organisation. You are to identify and detail the following:

PART A -

1. What is the environment impact caused by the workplace/training organisation. In your report you need to provide us with the following detail:

I. Name of the business

II. Description of the business

III. Website address and any other relevant information about the business

2. Detail any environment hazards present in the workplace.

3. In what ways do the environmental hazards identified in Question 2 above impact on the environment?

4. In ways could these environmental hazard improved?

5. Prepare a checklist that you could use if you were conducting a sustainability audit of your workplace or training institution. (Create and provide a checklist that you used to conducting your sustainability audit)

6. What legislative requirements do you need to consider when reviewing sustainability? List the name of legislations.

PART B -

Wastage is common in all organisations. You are required to prepare a presentation to all staff on how energy wastage can be reduced. This presentation should include the following:

1. Why wastage is occurring

2. The environmental impacts of energy wastage

3. Strategies for reducing energy consumption over the next 3 months.

4. Feedback from participants (create a feedback form you can give out to participants)

5. A monitoring program to check the progress of reducing wastage. (e.g. signs, charts)

6. An appropriate incentive reward to encourage team members to meet the target. Create a detailed session plan in the space below.

1. Estimate the number of fluorescent tubes in your immediate work area. Using the calculator determine the cost per day assuming the lights are on for 10 hours

4. To Implement these changes, you are to provide us with an action plan of how you are going to roll out these changes.
