For the Interactive requirement, one is required to share their own choice of matrix for the purpose of highlighting its benefits over those shared by another learner. This is a valid response but not an Interactive.

One:

For Interactive 1, you are supposed to sell your choice of matrix and share your reasoning on why you feel that your choice is far better than that of another learner.

Abstract: The essence of knowing and understanding the matrix of communications.

The matrix system is a typical structure which bridges the gap between employees and the management team as a whole.  This unique marriage provides a bed-rock for functionality among the organization.  The beauty of this program is that it fosters a platform for employees to communicate prior to seeking guidance from his or her management team.  Therefore, the matrix implementation and execution bridges the gap between workers and managers.  On the contrary, limitations of the matrix structure are evident with this management tool for communication purposes.

MATRIX

ADVANTAGES

*      Sharing data

*      Motivation between teams

DISADVANTAGES

Internal complexities

Double management

BOSTON CONSULTING GROUP MATRIX AND IE MATRIX

SIMILARITIES

*      Present/then developed projected matrices to reflect future

*      Before-and-after analysis forecast expected effect of strategic decision

DIFFERENCES

 IE is based on two dimensions the IFE total weighted scores on the x-axis

 On the x-axis of the IE Matrix, an IFE total weighted score of 1.0 to 1.99 represents a weak internal position, a score of 2.0 to 2.99 is considered average; and a score of 3.0 to 4.0 is strong.

The two features share benefits.  However, it is critical to know and understand the matrix models.  First, a good manager should be able to define the market data to determine the company’s market share.  A good management team should understand that high market shares do not necessarily mean the business has high profitability on each item the company sells.  Secondly, a reflection of two-dimension markets merely illustrate products and/or services growth rate as a whole.  Therefore, a low niche in the marketplace may mirror potential profits alike.  Subsequently, the matrix model does not reflect the growth rate only synergy between business units.
