Consultant's Proposal Paper

Scenario: You have been hired to lead a group of consultants to advise a local hospital on how to solve some of their staffing and IT issues. They are hoping that you can leverage a team that will use information management techniques to help their various staff members work smarter so they can be happier and more productive, while at the same time improving their patients' satisfaction with the services rendered.

Your first task as lead consultant is to produce a four to six page preliminary report on how you are going to help them. Your report should include the following sections:

Consultant Team: Briefly describe the types of consultants you plan to use for this project. This may include people who are already on staff at the hospital to improve staff buy-in of the proposal.

Statement of Problem: The hospital wants you to anticipate what some of their problems are and how you might solve them. They are primarily concerned with issues of cost, care quality, patient satisfaction, error reduction, and communications.

Statement of Solution: Briefly describe the IT and human parts of your solution. What ways do you see of solving their problems? They are also interested in knowing if there is an information management solution to helping them project what their staffing needs will likely be the next five to ten years.

Beneficiaries: Briefly describe who will benefit from your solution. They are primarily concerned with the various types of nurses and physicians (including specialists) they have on staff.

Each section should have an overview of the issues, along with some examples to support your proposed solutions. Remember that you aren't proposing the specifics of all your solutions at this point, but are rather outlining the possibilities and ideas you have, with some specific examples of how you might address each particular issue.
APA formatting style is not appropriate for this activity. It is a consultant's report and should be designed accordingly.
