Read the information following from the fictional Project Management Plan.

Problem Statement

The Microsoft HoloLens AR (artificial reality) development build, the original untethered holographic computer for the human user, shipped to stores in 2016. Designed to push boundaries by providing holographic images only seen in movies or in one's dreams, the HoloLens has transparent lenses so a person can see the environment around them while enabling the human mind to perceive a projected free standing, 3-D image over the environment. At the flick of a finger, the consumer can use all window applications on a holographic computer. Understandably high cost for individual consumers with purposes ideal for the average household, gaming, skype calls, holographic keyboards for typing emails or college papers, and the consumer model is expected to be released in 2018. Prior to the anticipated release, the product development teams need to correct and optimize the Microsoft HoloLens' currently limited field of vision.

Purpose of the Project

The purpose of this project will be to identify clear requirements, conclusive design, and implementation of the hardware necessary to widen the field of view on the Microsoft HoloLens, according to the requirements determined by the study committee. With this project accomplished, Microsoft will be able to stay in the race for the best AR headset and satisfy customer demand for a full immersion into a holographic age.

Scope of the Project

The scope of the project includes all activities that relate to the purpose of the project. All activities that do not relate to the purpose of the project are not considered within scope. An example of activities not in scope would include sensory software and application designs.

The activity objectives of the project include:

• completion of project by the determined due date
• completion of project within approved budget
• completion of all deliverables identified within this project plan by the associated due date
• fulfill all documented and agreed requirements which include:

o visual specification software modifications
o interface with the AR system from the developed hardware
o develop new hardware to expand range of vision
