Further, when positioning yourself for a promotion, it is important to document your successes and identify ways in which you will improve your managerial skill-set. Thus, this paper should be written to your boss in the form of a formal report/summary.

Imagine that your boss has asked you to read this book to help you become a better manager. S/he will probably be curious as to what you've learned or how this book has helped you. Select 1-2 different concepts or skills that you learned about from the section on "Developing a Leadership Mindset," and clearly articulate how this additional knowledge/awareness has changed your performance (i.e., increased your effectiveness) as a manager. In other words, you need to identify what has changed in your behavior based on what you've learned from the chapters within this section.

To supplement your understanding of these new skills/concepts and further impress your manager, make sure to include an additional 1-2 outside sources/references demonstrating something new you learned from beyond the book and how you were able to apply it.
