1. Disability Insurance and You

Insurance is there to cover the costs you can 't afford to take on your own. You have medical insurance to cover these costs, automobile insurance to cover the potentially large loss but what about disability insurance. A good application for probability theory is to look at the "probability of being disabled for 3 months or more in your career".

I signed up for disability insurance when I was younger and never thought I would use the insurance but the thought of being disabled for any extended period of time had me concerned. Later I had surgery to remove a benign tumor and was off work for a time and was glad to have disability insurance for it eased the pressure of recovery for I knew I was still receiving income while I could not work and this helped with all of the bills associated with recovery and also daily living expenses etc.

What are your thoughts and expectations about being temporarily disabled in your life or working career?
