Report on Gullivers view of science
Conclusion of Report: Jonathan Swift travels along with Gulliver to four different countries namely Lilliput, Brobdingnag, Laputa and Houyhnhnms. Jonathan Swift uses Gulliver travels as a platform to explore the negative effects of science on the society. Several critics have pointed out that there are number of evidences suggesting that Swift was not against all science but he was against a particular theory of science called “pure theory” which does not have practical application. He also protests that the scientific experiments based on pure theory and suggests that experiments working based on pure theory does not have a logical beginning and ending point. Through Gulliver’s travel Jonathan Swift makes each and every person to question their journey ahead in their life.
