Executive Summary

The overall report deals with the performance appraisal system in Tesco. It is a systematic evaluation that affects the overall performance of the employees that helps in carrying out the development of the organization. The performance appraisal system within the organization need to fair enough that will attract the customers as well as retain them as such. It is considered as one of the strong motivational factors that help in motivating and inspiring the employees to a greater extent. The employees being the integral part of the organization is essential to be made satisfied and content for better working environment and culture. Primary and secondary research is therefore conducted in the research work. Qualitative and quantitative questionnaires are done to managers and employees working in Tesco.  It is seen in the research that a major portion of the employees believe that performance appraisal is an important part in the organization. It is interrelated with the overall productivity and also should be fair enough to retain the employees. Moreover, as per the managers, Tesco’s appraisal system is good is effective in nature. It, therefore, helps in retaining the employees and makes them productive in nature.
