problem: Students in the operations management class encompass just received their grades on the first test. The instructor has given information regarding the first test grades in some prior classes and also the final average for same students. Some of these grades have been sampled and are as shown below:

a) Make a linear regression model which can be used to forecast the final course average based on the first test grade for nine students. Give the accurate independent and dependent variables and give the linear regression relationship in terms of these dependent and independent variables.

b) Predict the final average of the student who made an 83 on first test.

c) What would you propose using the relationship of forecasting the final averages? describe why? Base your proposal on the regression analysis you performed.

d) Assume that a student scored a 41 on the first test. find out the final average of a student who had this score. What cautions would you propose regarding using this linear regression relationship for predicting the final average by using the information given in this problem?
