Train Scheduling and Simulation

Summary

Public transportation is an industry that services millions of commuters and vacationers worldwide every day. Transportation systems in large metropolitan areas such as New York, Los Angeles, and foreign countries such as South Korea and Japan rely heavily on the accessibility, reliability, and timeliness of train and subway rail systems. Information technology has the ability to influence the rail transportation industry through its use of train scheduling, ticket reservations and simulation software.

Our business proposal is to create a company that will provide the public rail transportation system with the needed Information Technology protocols to increase customer accessibility, network efficiency and increase performance within the railway system. The software applications that our company will provide, will assist the rail industry with train scheduling and simulation, signaling protocols, acceleration and deceleration velocities, dynamic scheduling strategies and automatic runs on third lines due to high density traffic.
Our company will provide the rail industry with an updated technology platform that travelers from all over the world will be anxious to use. The system will allow for ticket reservations and purchases via any internet capable mobile device. Once a reservation is made, automatic updates of where their train is and the status of its arrival can be automatically sent to an email address or via SMS messaging. While the customers benefit from ease of booking and a friendly user interface, the rail company will benefit from the conveniences of safety and effectively managing their reservations and scheduling effectiveness. The system will automatically monitor train speeds and locations, and will be able to intervene if an over speed or collision detection sensor is activated. Both the customer and railway companies will benefit from this IT solution.

Our company will identify the above areas and provide solutions that can be utilized in any railway transportation system based on their specific needs and requirements. Our company will create, distribute, and provide technical support, installation and maintenance of all the required software and hardware needed to provide the customers and commuters with the best possible solutions and reliability. Our company promises to bring the future to the rail industry.

Group 2 Railway Information Technology Solution's mission statement is to provide the train and subway transportation industry the IT solutions they need to be at the fore front of today's technologically advanced world. Our vision is to provide both commuters and transportation providers an IT system that will enhance the commuting experience for passengers and ease business management stresses that railway companies typically incur. The goal is to create the ultimate e-commerce business experience within the railway transportation industry. These goals include streamlining the ticket reservations and sales process, making the system super accessible and user friendly. Furthermore easing the process of train scheduling through simulation and real time location services will provide the industry with care free on time route schedules.

We believe that interactive web services will attract more and more frequent users of the rail way transportation systems. This can benefit not only the railway industry, but also the environment by reducing the use of more traditional fossil fuel burning means of commuting. We are planning on launching or IT solutions to all railway industries across the world. Each system can be tailored by language and geographical locations and the overall objective will remain the same no matter where employed.

Group 2 plans on providing our customers with the creation, distribution, technical support, installation and maintenance of all the required software and hardware needed to fully implement and benefit from our IT applications. We are planning on quickly becoming the industry leader and premier IT solution for the railway transportation industry. We believe this because we stand behind our product and will provide any technical upgrades and system maintenance required by the user. This will allow business owners and managers to focus their attention to other areas required for business success without worrying about their IT systems. Our expected revenue for the first year will be in the area of $15 to $20 million with more expected in the years to follow as competitors see the success of our solutions being utilized.
