This is an individual assignment. Each of you will do this on your own. The majority of the content should reflect original critical thinking. When you are asked for information that might be available in your textbook, do not copy it, even with a reference. You need to paraphrase whatever information you share. You may use quotations, but no more than 15% of the paper may be quoted. You will be using this for the remainder of the course.
Choose one of the two scenarios listed on the link on the right side of the page. You will use your chosen scenario as the basis for your individual assignments beginning this week and continuing until the end of the course. At no time during this project will you actually collect data. You should approach this conceptually, demonstrating that you understand the course content thus far and how it can be applied to a real world problem.
Describe the problem at that company.
Identify one to two research variables from that problem. Identify whether they are qualitative or quantitative and explain your rationale. Is the variable concrete or continuous? Explain your answer.
Describe the methods you would use for collecting a suitable sample of either qualitative or quantitative data for the variable (NOTE: do not actually collect any data).
Evaluate how descriptive statistics and charts would help you evaluate the data.
Develop a 800 analysis to address the items listed above.

Scenarios for CLO Project
Choose from among the following research issues for your CLO assignments. You will be using this scenario from now until the end of the course. Make sure you explain which option you chose in your introductory paragraph:
A) You manage a call center. The expectation is that your phone reps will resolve a problem in 4 minutes, on average. You look at your metrics and observe and your phone reps are spending 5 minutes. You are not sure whether the data is correct or not. You are also not sure whether this deviation is enough to be worried about. How you will you resolve this.
B) You are a production line manager. The product that is manufactured on your line is ketchup. The bottle states that there are 14 oz. of ketchup in each bottle. During a production run, your quality control supervisor states that the fill is actually 14.4 oz. You are not sure whether the data is correct or not. You are also not sure whether this deviation is enough to be worried about. How you will you resolve this.
