The wonderful and wintry month's doesn't bring us just its silent blankets of snow or the ice cold winds. It brings us the beautiful holidays that are in this Siberian-Cold month. Those wintry months includes some very popular holidays which are; Christmas, Ramadan and Hanukkah. The first two in this list, Christmas and Ramadan, are two faith-centered holidays that share many similarities as well as several differences. These similarities focus on the religious aspects of the two, while the differences range across a variety of elements.
Christmas is an annual commemoration of the birth of Jesus Christ, celebrated generally on December 25 as a religious and cultural holiday by billions of people around the world. Christmas is civil in many of the world's nations, is celebrated by an increasing number of non-Christians, and is an integral part of the Christmas and holiday season. In Christmas time, everybody that celebrates Christmas could have a tree and celebrate it by decorating the tree with lights and different kind of decorations. In Christmas people celebrate by drinking alcohol and eating a lot. People usually gather together to celebrate this marvelous holiday. A lot of friends and family give gifts to each other in a kind of monetary or goods. Gifts, the reason I’m in love with Christmas.
On the other end, Ramadan is the 9th month in the Islamic Calendar and is when Prophet Muhammad received the Qur'an through the Holy Angel Gabriel. Although Ramadan is a holiday for Muslims, it’s different from Christmas because Christmas in only one day and Ramadan is the whole month. Unlike Christmas, On Ramadan you are not allowed to have a Christmas tree during the month and decorate the tree. Muslims are allowed to clean or decorate the house which Is kind of similar to Christmas but can’t have a tree because that’s a Christmas representation. Different from Christmas, On Ramadan you are not allowed to eat and have to fast in the name of the poor who can’t have the middle class people’s food, house, clothes or drinks. There are no gifts in Ramadan; you can only donate money to the poor, the people with very low financial status or to organizations. On the other hand, I love Ramadan because its created to actually be helpful to people with needs.
