Task1:
• Create a check list that contains key point for evaluating an ecommerce website. try to spot those points in (internet +SVU materials)
• Use this checklist to assess three Ecommerce websites of your selection.
• Use the same checklist to assess your site after you finish task2.
Task2:
A new media promoting company (BLUE RAY) took the decision to create a web site for the company to create an extra promotional channel in addition to other offline channel as a first step on the way to create a dedicated ecommerce web site to sell their products.
You are requested to design a website composed of five pages for this company
Use proper colours and organization
One of the pages should include a frame. Show use of tables and a form page.
• First, using Macromedia Fireworks or Photoshop, create an image that shows the overall layout you would like to use for company website.
• Then Slice the image for use in your Website template. At this point you need to have knowledge of HTML. You need to know how tables work in HTML in order that you can slice your image in a way that will fit within with tables.
• Then create an HTML document that consists of those slices. This will become the template you will use to create the rest of the pages of your Website.
• Add some javascript and an animated Gif or Flash along with information.
• Don't forget the navigational words and the copyright at the bottom of every page.
• Upload the website on the server. (use free hosting service on the net )
Task 3:
Write a short, reflective report about designing your website (use a chart). The chart will become your roadmap for site design. It will let you design a clear navigational structure not to mention helping you keeping track of your pages.
The report should include Information about who is your audience? What are they are looking for? Why you have chosen certain colour. Will it be easy to find. Number of levels of each category. Various website Design techniques with evaluation. The report should not exceed 1500 words excluding references (which must be included for research )
Task 4:
Most people have experienced the frustration when hyperlinks from sites are no longer accessible. In fact, this might apply to some of the links in the learning material you have been using.
