Description of Assignment PART 1

This is assignment requires your group to interview an IT Manager in organization of your choice. The purpose of the interview is to identify the key issues and challenges faced by the IT manager and to enable you to analyse the manager's organisation based on the concepts covered in this Unit. You should seek to find out whether or not the issues confronting your IT Manager are similar or different to those you have read about in relevant literature or discussed in the NIT2171 unit theory. You should seek which IT Management tools , frameworks, standards and best practices are used at your your IT Manager ‘s organization.

You should compile your research and findings into a report.

What you need to do

The interview is to be arranged with the IT Manager by one member of the group and should be planned for 45 to 60 minutes.

Remember that the interviewees are senior managers in their organisation and work with them accordingly. All members of the group SHOULD attend the interview and a 50% penalty may apply to the individual for absence without cause.

1- Write list of questions asked (AT LEAST FIVE) with relevant answer. Highlight questions you asked in BOLD?

2- Relate answers to Lecture contents of NIT2171 (Lecture number, Page number etc).

3- Find similarities and differences and put them into separate tables (List of Similarities, List of Differences).

4- Lessons Learned (Highlight IT management tools, Standards, Frameworks used by organization of IT Manager and his experiences and recommendations)

5- Meeting Minutes (Sample Attached).

6- Report Presentation Quality

Description of Assignment PART 2

Role Play: Every individual student will play a role of IT Manager and will be interviewed by the Lecture. He will be asked 4 questions about ICT management topics given below. He has to prepare it from lecture slides and tutorial contents.

1- ICT and Business Strategy
2- IT Governance and COBIT
3- IT Service Management, SLA and ITIL
4- Enterprise Architecture
