1. You are managing a large implementation project that is critical for one of our customers. Based on a project review meeting with your implementation team, you now understand that the project cannot be delivered on time and will likely be about 2 to 3 weeks late. Through this detailed project review with your team, you also discover that the project will take more effort than expected and you will over-run the project budget by 25%. The customer isn't aware of the situation yet. You are scheduled to deliver your next weekly status report to your customer in a few days and your next bi-weekly status call is scheduled for 10 days out. How do you communicate the situation to your customer and what type of information do you convey?
2. A new project has just been assigned to you after the customer signed the contract. Please outline the key steps you would take to develop the initial project plan and prepare for the kick-off meeting with the customer.
3. A customer contacts you and indicates that one of your consultants isn't performing to their satisfaction. They don't give you specifics and only say that the consultant just isn't delivering. What steps do you take to address the situation?
4. An executive two levels above you in the organization gives you direction on how to manage your project and customer. The direction isn't quite how you think you should handle the situation and you're not sure if it's how your direct supervisor would handle it (Your direct supervisor wasn't on the call where this direction was given). Please explain the next steps you would take.
