Principle of Project Management - Project Plan Assignment

You are required to write a management report that requires preparation of a project plan and schedule using the knowledge gained from the course. This will require application of MS Project software.

The scenario you are required to use in developing a time-based plan and schedule is the construction of a Wind Tower (a turbine). It currently takes 3 weeks to build and run. You can see the construction of the Wind Tower from various sources:

1. A copy of the Wind Tower construction is on Youtube: MidAmerican Energy Company - From the Ground up: Building our Energy future, one turbine at a time (5 mins 48 seconds)

2. A copy of the movie is on Blackboard

3. A .avi copy stored in a usb will be given to you in class during the first weekend to copy to your own computer.

You are required to use the movie-case of construction of the Wind Tower and develop a resources and time schedule using MS Project. You are also required to construct a risk register for the current activity. You are next required to "crash" the project by changing methods or adding additional resources to reduce the overall time of construction by at least 5 per cent. The minimum management report content is shown below in the Criteria.
