After reading this week's discussion article, what comes up in my mind is that world resources are limited. The reason why we never see Tim Hortons or Starbucks run out of coffee is because they are in business. In business, someone keeps on growing coffee beans to continue this value chain. However, what if we can never grow coffee beans in the world? In the same words, we never worried about our life, never worried about the lack of food and our clothing. But people who is suffering from the poverty and homeless they need to think about food, living place and clothing every day. The government can never be able to relieve the majority of homeless people, because the world's resources are limited. Even if there is enough shelter, there may not be able to provide enough beds and daily supplies.

Nowadays, relief is the status for most of the poor in the United States. Poor mothers will never give next generation a good education. Without a good education, the poor get stuck in a bad cycle. The poor African-American problem became an embarrassment and a scar in the United States, and no one wanted to uncover it. A mature society would have relief fund for the poor, because the issue could be worse if the government stop on helping poor people.

I think the government should increase relief fund for poor families and also provide suitable jobs for them. It is better to give them a chance to make their own money. In this regard, China is doing very well. Through the development of the past few years, China has made hundreds of millions of people out of poverty. One of the most important thing is to give people opportunities to work. After that, the government also need to organize more charities and build more affordable housing.
