Leadership (Topic)
1. What is the definition of a leader in your own opinion and what type of characteristics/traits should a leader have?
2. Is there a difference between a manager and a leader? If so, what is the difference?
3. Complete the leadership assessment and perform a candid self-assessment of your leadership skills.How will having leadership qualities, even if you do not have a leadership title, help you in your IT career?
- Do you want to become a leader?
- What are the areas that you feel you have strong leadership skills?
- What are the areas that you feel you need to gain more knowledge in to become a better leader?
4. Discuss a CEO or CIO in a previous organization you have worked for and their leadership skills. Did you find them to be an effective and good leader why or why not? (If you do not have organizational experience write about a CEO or CIO's leadership style that you would follow. Explain why you admire that CEO).
All papers are required in APA format including:
- Table of Contents
- Reference Page - MINIMUM OF 4 PROFESSIONAL REFERENCES. Your text book may be one of these sources. Wikipedia is not an acceptable source. I will be reviewing your quotes and paraphrases for accuracy.
- References may not be more than 5 years old. Only publications from 2011 and forward will be accepted.
- Graphs/Diagrams/Charts may be used if cited appropriately in APA format, from a professional source. However, there should be no more than 2-3 in the paper and these will not count towards the total number of pages.
- 4 Pages in length for the written portion. Cover page, graphs/diagrams/charts and the Reference page do not count towards the 4 pages.
