Overview

The purpose of this piece of assessment is to show that you really understand the key concepts in this course. This means that you are fully aware of the different avenues and options available for those implementing and using Enterprise Systems. In this assessment, you are required to put the counter argument to the one you employed in your case study report. That means, if in assessment item 3 you argued that modifying business processes to match the system was the way to go, then in this assignment you need to argue the case for customising the ERP software to match the business processes within the company.

Alternatively, if in assessment item 3 you argued that the ERP software should be customised to match the business processes within the company, then in this assignment you need to argue the case for modifying business processes to match the system.

Your Task

You are required to prepare materials for a presentation arguing the opposing side of the argument that you developed in your case study report. The audience you are aiming this for is senior executives. As such your materials and language in the script should be professional, but not technical. Aim for being clear, logical and concise.

You are expected to develop a script and supporting materials for a five (5) minute oral presentation. You will be expected to develop visual aids and hand-outs (where appropriate) that would assist in the delivery of your presentation script. The focus of your presentation is a summary of key arguments and recommendations that are the opposite, or different, from the report you delivered for Assessment item 3.
Note for FLEX students:

Note that you DO NOT have to deliver a presentation or a recording of a presentation. FLEX students don't need to record video of them presenting, but need to add voice to each slide "or" make a screen recording with your voice "or" use any other innovative ideas they may have.

Hints: For the actual content of the presentation you should focus on delivering a 'winning argument'. That is, you should convince your audience that you are right. You may wish to begin by thinking about these four simple questions:

What is it I want?

What is the principal argument that supports me?

Why should I win what I want? What are the facts that support me?

What is the story that best makes all of the above?

What you need to submit

You are required to submit a Microsoft PowerPoint file containing the presentation, a Word document based on this template containing the script and any other files containing handouts or supporting materials (Word or PowerPoint format). Please enter your student details in the section at the top of the template containing the script and add to the sections (you may change formatting and add sub-sections). Please DO NOT delete the marking criteria page.

FLEX students:

As Flex students don't attend classes, they are required to develop a power point presentation and add voice to each slide.

Students can either add voice to each slide "or" make a screen recording with your voice "or" use any other innovative ideas they may have.
