Group Project - Company Report
1. Identify a company that you would like to research for this project. You will be able to select any company that is in existence. It may be a local, regional, national or international firm.
2. This project will be completed as part of a group. At the end of the project, you will be asked to rate your other group members on their performance.
Assignment: You will write a 10 page report on this company. At the end of the semester, you will be expected to present your findings to the class.
This assignment is YOUR REPORT, so you have the freedom to emphasize the sections that you feel are most important. However, this is a formal written report that should emphasize valuable information about the company
At a minimum, the topics that SHOULD be covered include:
a. An introduction into what the company is/does
b. Who is in charge of this company?
i. What is his/her background?
ii. How did he/she become involved with the company (if available)
iii. How has the company done under his/her leadership?
c. What industry does this business compete in?
i. What state is the industry in?(this should be in greater detail than the introduction - perform your own industry analysis)
ii. Describe if this company is a key player or has a minor role in the industry as a whole.
d. What changes has the industry encountered in the last 5 or 10 years?
e. What changes do you foresee in the next 5 to 10 years?
f. Who are the main competitors?
i. List and describe some of the key competitors
ii. In what areas does your chosen company outperform its competitors
iii. In what areas is your chosen company outperformed by its competitors
g. How is this company doing financially?
i. You may take as long or as short of a view as you'd like
h. What is the long term outlook for the company and/or its industry?
YOU MAY ORGANIZE YOUR REPORT TO SUIT YOUR OWN STYLE. MY ONLY REQUIREMENT IS THAT IT IS IN A REPORT FORMAT USING STANDARD WRITTEN ENGLISH. YOU MAY SELECT APPROPRIATE HEADINGS AS YOU SEE FIT. YOU SHOULD NOT USE BULLET POINTS IN ANY PART OF THIS REPORT.
