The Research Process: An Overview
Introduction
To those unfamiliar with the scientific process, it can be surprising to learn how many facets a researcher must consider and the time involved in doing so. Researchers spend the majority of their time considering-and then choosing and developing-research aspects, including the problem's origin, selection, statement, exploration, and refinement. Why? The final version of the research question sets the direction of subsequent research undertaken. Getting to the final research question (or questions) involves decisions regarding design strategy, data collection planning, and samplings. Ultimately, measurement questions will determine how research results are measured. All this takes time.
