1. Write an essay about the prophet Jeremiah , explaining the historical context, the main themes of the work, the style and images through which the message is told. Do you think the work has relevance today? NOTE: Use the attached powerpoint to answer this question.

2. Write an essay on one Unusual character of the Bible- (Judith, Esther, Vashti, Ruth, Jonah). Be sure that you have situated the work in its historical context and identified any major cultural differences. You may relate your understandings to the contemporary context.
