Identifying a Target Company

Just as an architect plans, designs, and communicates the components and relationships that comprise a building or house, an information architect must be able to understand, design, and communicate a company''s data requirements. For this assignment, you will select a company for which you will define and describe the data requirements throughout the remainder of this course. You can choose a company with which you are familiar, or you can select a company of interest to you. As you complete the assignments throughout the course, you may not have specifics available to you regarding the company''s actual data-storage implementation. That is fine. You will instead think about the variety of data the company must store. Based on your readings and other study materials throughout the course, you will also think about ways you could organize the company''s data to optimize availability and access, reliability, security, scalability, and performance.

For this assignment, you must produce a concise but accurate overview of the company you have selected to work with for the remainder of this course.
