I need an NFS application on my windows 8 professional tablet that will read a number from a nfc tag (card) .

If you develop a desktop application, it will need to be able to read the card and copy the contents to the clipboard as a background service or in a way that doesn't need focus or being on top. The best way would be to prepare an api as a windows .dll that I will reference as an external driver in my existing application.

Just accept the nfc tap and copy the contents to the Windows clipbard.

If you have a windows tablet and you load the metro application "nfc clipboard" from the windows store (free), you will see that the application has to be in focus on the tablet to accept the contents from the card. A metro app is not what I am asking. I need to be able to run either a desktop application in the backdrop or create an api (.dll) and have the contents from the nfc card pasted to the windows clipboard without the app maintaining focus.
