Future of App Dev (3-5 pages)

The first part of this assignment should investigate where the future of apps are going. With apps beginning to surface on our TV's (Apple TV), our cars (Car Play), etc, will apps take over traditional software? How are operating systems like Windows 10 becoming more app like? How is mobile driving the app revolution? Please use your own words here as I am curious as to where you see apps going and in what industries they will be present.
