Perhaps one of the most commonly known facts about United States (U.S.) history is that since the beginning, America has been a land of immigration. English immigrated to the U.S. escaping England's religious and political prosecutions, they risked their lives sailing over deadly seas seeking freedom. Escaping agony along with the possibility of a new life, owning their own land, creating their own laws, and the overall idea of a prosperous future was their driving force to immigrate here. Throughout time this same idea has held, massive amounts of people from all around the world have immigrated here to America seeking a better life, and without this strongforeign influence the U.S. would not be standing amongst the greatest nations of the world.Foreign workers are an enormous part of the reason that America has seen so much success through the ages. Foreign workers in the U.S. have played key rolesin the construction of our nation, along with strengthenthe economy, and helped the U.S. rise to a top world power.

The construction of United States began with 13 colonies that stretched along the Atlantic Ocean, and is now shaped by 50 states that stretch from the Atlantic to the Pacific Ocean.
