Case Study
Purpose: You have just been appointed as Time Planner by your Employer to track a contract that has been awarded by your Employer to an engineering construction group call Al Hadi Engineering Group based in UAE to design and build a container port terminal at Port of Dubai in the new Logistics zone which your Employer owns.
Your Employer intends to manage the contract through the use of MS Project as part of an overall Project management process. But first, your Employer wants to know if you are capable of preparing a Time scheduling applying MS Project methodology so that he can track Project's progress.
Your Task: to present a draft of how you intend to track the project on MS Project and what are the key issues. You are requested to put forward some proposals on how your Employer can apply the Time Schedule as a management tool and be able to see progress of the Project.
You have 1 hour to complete a draft. Do the best you can and complete as much as you can. You can apply any of the latest MS Project versions.
Project: RO 125 million Equipment, Procurement Contract (EPC) is signed with your Employer to design, build and transfer a container port terminal at the Port of Dubai.

Completion of Detailed Design within 120 days of contract signing and employer approval
Commencement of construction 150 days from contract signing
50 % completion of construction works and acceptance by the Employer
Completion of construction 30 months from contract signing
Commissioning 35 months from contract signing and acceptance by the Employer.

The Project involves a number of Stakeholders who wish to be consulted during the construction period and are requested to approved.
