It is time to schedule a future telephone conference call appointment withyour internshippreceptor, you and myself. It works best if you and your preceptor are in the same room together on a speaker phone or separate phones linked to the same conversation with the instructor. Work this out in advance of the call.

The purpose of the telephone call is multifold, to include expressing the HCA Department's appreciation to your preceptor for the time and effort he/she and their staff have provided in both being a preceptor, and hosting you at their organization.(This is very time consuming for them, and is above and beyond their basic work schedule). Additionally, we will have some dialogue on what skills you learned and the experience you gained as a student during the internship. I am also interested in feedback on how the HCA Department can improve the internship experience and preparation for future interns, for both the student and the preceptor. Additionally, I want to know if the organizationis interested in sponsoring future CSULB HCA interns, and encourage them to continuebeing a preceptor. In the past 5 years the number of CSULBHCA internship students has doubled, and an appropriate internship sites that are needed has also doubled. Work I had at the healthcare clinic: Helping referral department with referral cases, ( I can submit 5 referral cases per day without supervisor), I also help with verifying patient eligibility for insurance and update patient medical information. (which requires me to using multiple medical software ). Moreover, I also help with front desk associates to answering phone call from patients and making outreach calls for patients. Most importantly, I helping and hosting several health fair event which I learned a lot about planning, marketing and budgeting. That's all my work as an intern at healthcare clinic.
