Assignment: Relationship in social media

Social media has provided a platform over which people can share a variety of things with their friends and other social media users. While this is an important avenue for sharing information and other ideas, social media may not be appropriate for relationship. It can be identified that the couples who keep posting statuses of each other, over sharing comments and their selfies even in the most ordinary situations may do so to cover their relationship insecurities. In many cases, couples who share a lot about their relationship on social media often try to seek reassurance about their relationship from social media friends and other members of the public. Scholars have reported that people who have many posts about their relationship are seeking validation for the relationship from other social media users in the form of comments and likes even when they are struggling. The focus is on what other people say about their relationship. According to Altschule (2015), the Internet through social media can exert much stress on relationships in the current world.
