Outline For the Recreation & Wellness Intranet Project

A project manager is ultimately responsible for the planning and execution of the various phases and activities associated with a project. One of the primary documents a project manager uses to capture and document the specifics of a project is the project management plan (PMP). During the past several units, you have focused on specific elements of project management such as PM process groups, integration management, scope management, time management, and cost management. Each of these topics represent specific sections or components that would be found in a PMP.

Using the Project Management Plan Template provided, you will begin constructing a project management plan outline for the Recreation and Wellness Intranet Project.

Using textbook Chapters 1 through 7 as well as the materials you produced in the various unit assignments, you will begin to create the first three sections of the Recreation and Wellness Intranet project management plan.

Section I is the Introduction and will be divided into four sub-sections: Project Overview (minimum of one to two paragraphs of approximately 250 words); Project Deliverables (minimum of 1 paragraph and/or list); References (APA format); and a list of any acronyms used along with their definitions.

Section II is the Project Organization section, which is comprised of three sub-sections: Organizational Structure (minimum of one to two paragraphs of approximately 150 words and an organizational chart); Project Phases/Life Cycle (minimum of one to two paragraphs of approximately 150 words); and Project Team Member Responsibilities (list of roles and responsibilities).

Section III is the Managerial Process section comprised of three sub-sections: Scope Management Plan (minimum of one to two paragraphs of approximately 250 words along with your Work Breakdown Structure [WBS]); Schedule Management Plan (minimum of one to two paragraphs of approximately 250 words containing your Gantt Chart); and your Cost Management Plan (minimum of one to two paragraphs of approximately 250 words that will also include your Cost Model).
