1)Antebellum slavery can be subjected to an external analysis. In this analysis, there are seven factors which help us to understand not only that antebellum slavery was a capitalistic, profit-driven economic system but also that these factors influenced slave life and how slaves were treated.
Discuss five of these factors, including an illustration in describeing one of the factors, Then, tell, generally, how these factors impacted on slave life. Then, describe how an external analysis has or has not changed your perspective of antebellum slavery.

2) Discuss three historians whose interpretations of slavery have generated controversy and/or whose interpretations or monographs, have advanced knowledge of slavery. Discuss why you agree or disagree with those historians.

3) First, Discuss factors that contributed to the Americanization of Africans and the institutions that developed in the African American community. Second, select and discuss four African American s active in the black church, abolitionist or emigration movement, women's movement, and or slave revolts and tell what they did. Third, Discuss the kinds of business enterprises of antebellum free a. Four, discuss new insights have you gained on antebellum free blacks that have expanded your knowledge of the Black historical experience during the age of slavery.

4) Was the Civil War and irreconcilable conflict? Discuss from the perspective how both-range causes and those events in the Decade of Crisis that have been considered factors in whether or not the Civil War was an irreconcilable conflict. Then, based on the information you have provided, give your opinion as to whether or not the Civil War was an irreconcilable/inevitable conflict, including your opinion of whether the existence of slavery or the expansion of slavery was a cause of the Civil War.
