AHIMA Information Governance Series

Instructions: You are the HIM Director at a large teaching hospital located in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Along with the CIO and Privacy Officer, you have been invited to develop a training program targeted to new physicians as part of their orientation to the hospital on the topic of information governance. These physicians know very little about the emerging topic of IG. Your assigned role for this presentation is to present a broad overview of IG, communicate its importance to a healthcare organization, articulate what IG means for patients and the care they receive, and other pertinent information you deem valuable to their understanding of IG. Begin your presentation by talking about your role as an HIM professional and why you are well positioned to speak on this topic. In order for this training presentation to be archived and used for the next group of physicians, create a PowerPoint presentation for this training using voice-over-technology.

Use the resources provided below to inform your training presentation and site all sources appropriately.
