This assessment gives you the opportunity to demonstrate skill in conducting a literature review and your approach to undertaking a substantial research report. Health promotion, public health and sexology professionals are often called upon to research and write reports on a specific health topic. These often form the basis of program planning and grant submissions.
Following agreement and identification of a study area and topic, assignment 2 will be used to present a first draft of the final report with the inclusion of a literature review of sourced literature found to date. Endnote should be used and assessments should be submitted to Turn It In. The draft should follow a clear structure and include:
1. Title page
2. Table of contents
3. Title -Should be succinct and to the point describing what the project is about. It is generally a one sentence statement.
4. Introduction -Provide a brief statement on the issue and a concise outline of the paper content and structure.
5. Research Question-This should be one sentence clearly stating the overall or general aim of the project i.e. what does your project aim to achieve
6. Objectives-Objectives are short statements in point form which define the limits of the project, essentially stating what you are going to achieve.
7. Rationale-A summary of the health issue- This section should provide background information to the topic and indicate the significance of the issue. It should also advise on why this project is being undertaken.
8. Methodology-This is an overview of how the project objectives will be achieved. It briefly describes the components of the project and the procedures that will be followed. It is essential to the smooth running of the project.
9. Timeline-Develop a list of project tasks and the dates for completion to demonstrate how the project will be completed within the semester.
10. Literature Review -A review of the most current and relevant literature to indicate that you have read widely in the area and are able to identify key elements in the project. For the draft you should have all of the major headings completed and most content under each heading.
